Welcome to All about Min-kei, Colby, and Jack!

Min-kei

Min-kei is a 1 year old calico cat. She was adopted from Furry Friends Refugee. She was originally a foster cat who was bottle fed and then given to my Aunt to foster. She was a spunky friendly kitty, who chose me by bitting my mask and trying to nurse on my face. As a kitten who never was fed by anything but a bottle she doesn't understand that the purpose of nursing is getting milk. Min-kei is often lovingly refered to as Moo, because she is an extremely vocal cat. When I first adopted her she would wake me up in the middle of the night by purring and then nursing on my chin. I had to hide under a thick blanket and hold it as tight as I could to make her stop nursing on my chin. Eventually she has learned to nurse on soft blankets that mildly mimic a cats fur. She used to be fed by eating what she needs and because of Colby and Jack she had to be fed by an automatic feeder. Which has made her obssessed with food, to the point she has gotten into closed cabinets, ontop of a cubby and nudged the center basket out, and gotten on top of a highshelf that she shouldn't have been able to reach just to knock down food.

Colby

Colby and Jack

Colby is a 5 year old white siamese cat. He was adopted from the Animal Rescue Leauge as a bonded buddy with Jack. Colby is a super skittish cat who dispises being picked up, and runs away if you approach him to fast. He adores being pet and making biscuts on people he likes. When he was first adopted he hid behind the toilet for days. My boyfriend had to coax him from behind there. In order to bond with Colby my boyfriend would give Colby pieces of food (such as chicken, or beef) from his food. Which lead to him becoming obsessed with food, and eventually leading to him becoming a 20lbs cat, even though he was a heavy cat when he was adopted. He is the chonkiest of our cats, and the one most likely to steal food off of our plates. Other than food he loves to watch TV. He likes any TV shows, and will happily watch them with us, however he absolutely loves watching birds, or chipmunks on the TV. Due to his extremely sharp claws and where we have our TV at he is unable to watch TV unsupervised.

Jack

Jack

Jack is a 5 year old orange tabby cat. He was also adopted from the Animal Rescue Leauge and was a bonded buddy with Colby. Jack is an extremely loving and playful cat. When he was first brought home he loved the attention and recieved a lot of pets. He is still the first cat to greet any of our family, or friends who visit. He however, is also extremely anxious. Jack tends to lick off his fur, and if he is too anxious he will pee outside the litterbox. When he first was going outside the litterbox we were extremely worried there was something wrong with him, however after taking him to the vets for testing, they decided he was just too anxious. As such we now have him on calm kibble and have Feliway all throughout the house. Feliway is essentially an aroma only detected by Cats that helps them calm down by releasing a smell similar to the one that cats emit when they want to communicate with another cat. He has time periods where he licks more fur off or where he lets it grow back. Typically if we are away for long periods of time or the litterbox is not up to his standards he will lick his fur off more.
